the last weekend of July I had the wonderful experience of going to the Newport Folk Festival in Newport, Rhode Island and I met up with one of my old friends from school. We waited late to get tickets, so we only saw Friday's performance, but it was definitely better than nothing.
it was my first music festival experience, not including bamboozle when I was a teenager, and it was without a doubt my favorite. the pouring rain didn't stop me from being front row for Feist and Old Crow Medicine Show. I didn't get to see everyone perform, but I was fortunate enough to watch Kingsley Flood rock out, Hey Marseilles, and the Last Bison. What beautiful bands with incredible talent. The musicians were just as joyful as the festival goers and everyone had a great time despite the endless rain.
I'm definitely going back next year and I'm making sure I get three day tickets.
